About
Petar Popović Piros (Kruševac, 1989) graduated from the Secondary School of Art in Niš in 2008, majoring in Graphic Design. During his high school education, he participated in numerous competitions and group exhibitions, and in 2007 he won first prize at a prestigious regional calligraphy competition. His love for calligraphy further developed through street art, which he has been engaged in since high school, and in recent years it has resulted in a series of works on walls and canvas titled Cyriffiti (Cyrillic graffiti) (Serbian Cyrillic: Ћирифити, Serbian Latin: Ćirifiti).
He completed his studies in Graphic Design in 2011 at the College of Fine and Applied Arts (VŠLPU) in Belgrade, where he already started his professional career in application and illustration design for domestic and international markets during his studies.
To date, he has worked on more than fifty applications and games for both domestic and foreign markets. As a designer, he has worked on projects for numerous notable brands, including Aparteko, for which he designed the entire visual identity of the popular app “Slagalica,” with over 10,000,000 registered users; Legendary Films (USA), for which he created scenic illustrations for the Hollywood movie The Machine (2021); and Coca-Cola Serbia, for which he designed a limited edition of bottles. He has also collaborated with the brand Foot Locker (USA), Exit Festival in Novi Sad, Belgrade Fashion Week, and the company Soko Štark.
The most significant part of his artistic work has been realized through mural painting – in Serbia and the region, as well as across Europe – participating in various events and by invitation. One of his paintings was part of the exhibition of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Banja Luka in 2013.
He has created murals for numerous cultural centers and institutions in Serbia and the region, and participated in all “Meeting of Styles” events in Serbia, as well as at festivals such as “Xstatic” in Split, “Day and Night” in Zagreb, “Street Art Festival” in Mostar, “Fasada” in Sarajevo, “Rubix” in Porto Montenegro, “Dev9t” in Belgrade, and “Exit” in Novi Sad.
He was the official muralist of OPENS (European Youth Capital Novi Sad), within which he realized a series of murals in Novi Sad, Zagreb, Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Budva, Buljarice, Podgorica, and Thessaloniki.
